Is Faith Really All We Need?

In Revelations it's all about the end times and keeping your faith. The faithful this and the faithful that. Also some people believe that all that matters is faith. But what about love? What about hope and forgiveness? I know in my previous post "Faith Without Works is Dead" I said that forgiveness and works will come from faith but still.
1 Corinthians 13:13 says "So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love." Faith, hope and love but the greatest of these is love. Now isn't that something. Here is my take on that. Faith, hope and love are really important. In fact they are the three most important aspects of a Christian's life.  But the most important aspect is not faith. It's love. So how can someone say that faith is all that matters.
If I have enough faith to tell a mountain to move and it does but I don't love, my faith is worthless. Faith doesn't mean you go to heaven. If you are a bitter, jealous person but have faith why should you go to heaven. You are called to love people. You are called to love your enemies, love your neighbors. To get to heaven you need to love and also have faith.
"When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.” He said to him a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Tend my sheep.” He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you love me?” Peter was grieved because he said to him the third time, “Do you love me?” and he said to him, “Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my sheep" (John 21:15-17)
What Jesus was basically saying is if you love me love my people. If you love me help my people. If you love me, give to my people. Right there Jesus didn't say keep your faith, he said love my people. He didn't care that Peter had faith he cared about Peter loving the people. All throughout the Bible it talks about love.
So to answer  the title, we must have faith, but love is if not more important than faith.

Faith Without Works Is Dead

"14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? 17 So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead." James 2:14-17.

What does it mean by faith by itself is dead? Well it's what it says. If there is no works that comes from your faith, then your faith is dead. By dead it means it is false, or never existed. If you say you believe in Jesus and that you have faith in Him, but you never show it by works then what good is your faith?
Here is an analogy for you. A bird has one wing (faith) and it wants to jump off a tall tree. So it jumps. It flaps it's wings as hard and fast as it can. But no matter what happens, it dies. It goes splat. That is the same thing with our faith. If we do not have works to show that we have faith, our faith is dead.
However, if the bird has two wings (faith and works) and it jumps off the tree. It flies and does not die. Same thing with us. If we have works to show our faith it is not dead! People will see your faith and your love for God. Let me say this one more time FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS USELESS!!!!! Actions speak louder than words.

Amazing Grace

So at youth one night we sang the song "Amazing Grace My Chains Are Gone," and I finally realized w
hat that song truly means. Before that night though, I only thought that it was a good song and God's grace is pretty amazing. Which it is. But then I thought about it, because of God's grace, I'm made new. Because of God's grace I can see, because of God's grace I am free. The song is praising God for his grace.
The first part of the song goes like this:
"Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind but now I see"
The first few words are "Amazing Grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me," It saved us! We wouldn't be who we are without God's grace . We were lost. We were lost sheep but then by God's grace he found us. He found his sheep. He found YOU and he found ME. Before we were saved we didn't see the truth and stuff that he sees, but because of his Grace we can see.
I am going to skip a verse and jump right into the next line.
"My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace"
This line is really important to us as Christians . Our chains are gone. Not because we deserve it but because God loves us. We have been set free by the Ultimate sacrifice. God has ransomed us by giving up his one and only son to die on a cross for us. He has unending love and awesome, amazing grace.
Although there is more to this song I am going to stop there.
Here is the Song

Who Said?

Right now I'm going through a tough time right now and going to begin a major transition  in my life. I keep finding myself thinking "Why God? Why?" I also keep thinking "why did you have to screw up my life and family?" But then I realized something. Who said life was going to be easy? Who said you won't have any tough times? The bible never tells us that if you follow Jesus it's going to be easy.
In fact John 15:18-21 it says "18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me." We will be hated, we will be persecuted, we will be treated horribly because we are disciples of Jesus. They hated Jesus, they persecuted him and they treated him horribly too. Our life won't be easy. Jesus says "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it." He basically said you must DIE daily. You must lay down your life so that you can live through and for him. Die to yourself and live for him.
When God changes something in our lives it usually seems unfair and we sometimes get mad at him (trust me I know how it feels) but the truth is he doesn't ask us for advice or our opinions.   It's all about faith. You need faith to walk through the opened door and step on the next stepping stone. you need faith to follow Jesus through the valley you are in. We just have to wait upon the Lord. He will make everything new and beautiful.
Remember Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you a hope and a future."
